Anno: Create a New World Announced for Wii and Nintendo DS by Ubisoft

Ubisoft, founded in France in 1986, announced Anno: Create a New World designed for the Wii and the Nintendo DS. The real-time strategy and simulation game is slated for a summer 2009 release. Using the Wii remote and DS stylus, respective gamers are challenged to build empires and discover new civilizations.

“Anno: Create a New World allows gamers to take the civilization building experience to the next level of fun and interactivity,” remarked John Parkes, marketing director EMEA at Ubisoft, “We’re pleased to be bringing the brand new, uniquely designed game to the Wii and Nintendo DS for the first time.”

Anno: Create a New World is developed by Keen Games and is set in 1404 where King George’s people experience large-scale droughts and famine. Desperate to liberate his people, the King consults his two sons, Edward and William. Edward suggests waging war to get the necessary commodities, while William proposes to explore new uncharted lands to meet the demands. King George agrees to William’s peaceful method and so the prince sets out southward to find adventure.

Anno: Create a New World lets players explore new lands and be influenced by other cultures while expanding their horizons. Players must rule fairly and wisely seeing that the citizens’ needs are met. The Wii offers a 2-player co-op mode whereas the Nintendo DS allows for up to 4-player co-op.
