Armin van Buuren Getting his own DJ Game on Nintendo Wii

Dutch trance producer and DJ, Armin van Buuren has been voted the number one DJ twice consecutively in DJ Magazine’s annual top 100 vote, being voted top in 2007 and in 2008. Now, Eurogamer is reporting that van Buuren will star in his own DJ game for the Nintendo Wii. The game will apparently be developed by Cloud 9.

“I’ve been a huge games freak for years and I am, of course, a music fanatic,” van Buuren said. “Music mixing technology has improved enormously over the past few years. You can do a lot more with your choice of records and the various effects, making it even more fun to mesmerise your audience, take them on a musical journey and let them party on.”

In the game called Armin van Buuren – In the Mix, Wii users will be able to mix van Buuren’s trance anthems using various “effects and loops”. He has apparently offered the developer, some of his music which is previously unheard, and he has even coaxed the artists, whom he regularly works with, to contribute to the game.

“Now you can discover how great it is to mix your own music in your own living room! This game shows you how I work as a DJ, but you can use your own style. Perfect your skills and make your friends and family totally crazy about dance and trance,” van Buuren commented further.

Armin van Buuren – In The Mix is to be exclusively for the Nintendo Wii home console, and is expected to release in the autumn of 2009.
