There has been an influx of role-playing games on the Nintendo Wii, some of which are based on anime. One more RPG is now heading to the next generation console, but this one is based on a manga series. Japanese website Watch Impress is reporting that Square Enix is working on a Soul Eater video game for the Wii.
Soul Eater is very popular in Japan. It is set in the Shinigame technical school for weapon meisters, who are on a task to bring together ninety-nine evil human souls and one soul of a witch. They use this to make a Death Scythe. An anime based on Soul Eater is currently being shown on TV Tokyo.
The Soul Eater manga was first launched as three separate one-shots in 2003. The Soul Eater video game is being made exclusively for the Nintendo Wii by Square Enix. There is no word on the release dates of the game or whether it will be available in the western countries.
