The present generation consoles are pretty interesting. Though the heavyweights, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s PlayStation 3 were pegged by analysts to do well, it is the Nintendo Wii that has emerged the favorite not only amongst the casual gamers but also the hardcore ones. Now it seems that Nintendo is already working on the successor of the Wii.
Satoru Iwata is the president of Nintendo. He told Forbes magazine that Nintendo is already working on the Wii’s successor. Iwata explained, “We are always preparing for the next hardware. We are under development. But the hardware is a kind of box that consumers reluctantly buy in order to play our games.”
The Nintendo head also pointed out that some revolutionary features are needed by every hardware. Iwata then said that though Nintendo had a revolutionary user interface this time around he did not know that whether it will be the same next time around. Last week, Nintendo had apologized to hardcore gamers about the E3 2008 no show.
