Ubisoft Expands Casual Video Game Business Ubisoft has disclosed new plans regarding their casual video game business. They are planning to expand it and have made significant investments and formed an internal development structure dedicated to the creation of games. Ubisoft will also expand the My Coach and Petz franchise.

Yves Guillemot, CEO, Ubisoft says, “Ubisoft has a established track record of publishing and creating video games for non-traditional gaming audiences, with multimillion-selling brands like Petz and Rayman. The timing is right for us to influence our creativity and to open up the video games market to new consumers who will be attracted by content that can help them learn, grow and brighten up in an entertaining way.”

Pauline Jacquey, Executive Producer, Casual Games, Ubisoft comments, “Ubisoft’s vision for this business is unique. We are developing projects that make people feel that playing games is worth their while, letting them to splurge quality time with family and friends, learn a new skill, or advance their daily lives. By creating games with real-life benefits, we are creating games that appeal to everyone.”

The first two games from the My Coach series are My Word Coach and My Life Coach. The former is being made for both, Nintendo DS and Wii, while the latter will just come on the DS. My Word Coach will hit the stores in fall 2007 while My Life Coach will be launched in Christmas 2007.
