Godzilla: Unleashed Announced for the PS2

Atari has sent word that their ultimate giant monster fighting game, Godzilla: Unleashed will also release for the PS2. The game has already been announced for the Wii and Nintendo DS. It features interactive 3D cityscapes, large destructible buildings, soaring skyscrapers and immense alien formations.

Godzilla: Unleashed

Godzilla: Unleashed has more than 20 of the most renowned monsters of all-time. But the PS2 version will feature monsters not found on the Wii and DS versions of the game. It also has an innovative non-linear storyline that allows gamers to control how the story unfolds through their choices in battle. Godzilla: Unleashed has a flexible multiplayer mode, which supports up to four players for the ultimate city-crushing monster mash. The game is set in nine urban arenas that offer setting to epic battles and widespread destruction.

“Bringing Godzilla: Unleashed to the enormous PlayStation 2 audience as well as the massive and growing Wii and DS fanbase is another feather in the cap of Atari’s growing publishing line up. The Godzilla license is a global phenomenon and Atari has a successful history of putting the gamer in control of everyone’s favourite monster. This most recent collaboration with independent studio Pipeworks will result in yet another must-have monster romp,” said Mathias Hautefort, who is the executive vice president of publishing and production at Atari.

Godzilla: Unleashed is being developed by Pipeworks. The game will release in Autumn 2007 on all three platforms. So PS2 gamers, now get ready for some stomping action!
