Golden Axe II (1-2 players, 800 Wii Points) was first released for the Sega Mega Drive on December 26, 1991. The side-scrolling fighting game sees ferocious barbarian named Ax-Battler, a courageous female Amazon known as Tyris-Flare or a fierce dwarf named Gilius Thunderhead take on the Dark Guld and his minions who have invaded took hold of the prized Golden Axe with plans to destroy it. It features six side-scrolling levels.

Lode Runner (1-2 players, 500 Wii Points) is a platform game first published by Brøderbund in 1983. The NES version will be coming on the VC. The action-puzzle game sees the gamer control Runner, who gathers gold nuggets located around every stage, all the while avoiding capture by enemy robots. The Runner keeps clear of enemies by tunneling holes in the floor to the right and left of his position, by doing this, he can clear a path to places that, at first glance, seem unreachable. Gamers must use their brains to collect all the gold nuggets in every puzzling stage if they want to escape to the next. There is one major difference between the original game and the VC version as the latter features an Edit Mode, which allows players to design their own stages.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (1-2 players, 800 Wii Points): This game needs no introduction. The story revolves around evil doctor who clandestinely follows Sonic to his holiday spot, Westside Island, and launches a complete attack, imprisoning all the powerless animals of the island and turning them into gratuitous worker drones. Sonic is helped by an atypical two-tailed fox named Miles Prower (aka Tails).
