Nintendo debuts Metroid 3 Game Trailers on WiiWare

Nintendo is going the Xbox LIVE way as Wii owners now get a ‘Metroid Prime 3 Corruption’ game trailer that is currently available in the console’s Wii Shop as a free download.

So, if you woke up this morning and saw your Wii glowing, then fear not, because it’s just the arrival of the new Metroid video.

US gamers can head to the new Metroid section of the Wii Ware channel, where they will find two promotional videos that include a new trailer of the game as well as a Corruption ‘Bridge Fight’ gameplay video.

This free ‘Metroid Channel’ was added to the Wii’s Wii Ware section yesterday morning. Nintendo has timed the release of this channel well in anticipation of the Metroid Prime 3: Corruption game’s release that is slated to take place this month.

The original NES Metroid game is due for an August 13 release and will cost you 500 points, while the SNES Super Metroid game will release on August 20 for 800 points.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption will be released on August 27.

These games plus the trailer are hitting the virtual console as part of Nintendo’s “Month of Metroid.”

Reportedly, two more Metroid videos are expected to come out on August 13, joining the release of the Metroid NES game.

Nintendo sure is taking its “Metroid Month” to a whole new level, with the debut of its first downloadable game trailer as well as two Metroid games and the main Metroid Prime 3: Corruption game.
