The trailer has also gone on to show Pikachu as a wild creature, which means that Pokemon from other generations will also be available for catching. This wasn’t the case with the Black and White versions from the series. New critters which were disclosed through the trailer include Chespin which falls under the grass-type category, Fennekin which is a fire-type creature and Froakie, a water-type pocket monster.

Another aspects that has been somewhat revealed by the video is that the battle camera has been given an overhaul. While previous games had the camera stuck at the back of the critters, various new viewpoints appear to have been infused into these fresh titles, giving the battles a dynamic look. These will be the first games from the series to render themselves in 3D. Even though the last games, Black Version 2 and White Version 2 were compatible with the 3DS, they were built for the DS in originality.
