Nintendo Sells One Million 3DS Units in Japan

Back in April, Nintendo announced that its 3DS sales chart has reached the 303,000 units mark within the first two days of the product’s launch in Europe. However, we heard little about the device’s performance in the company’s home arena. According to a post on Andriasang, the gaming giant has finally registered a sales figure of one million Nintendo 3DS units in Japan.

Reportedly, the hardware has managed to reach the aforesaid landmark following thirteen weeks of hitting store shelves. Its predecessor namely Nintendo DS is said to have achieved this target in the fourth week subsequent to its arrival. Further, the report states that the DS Lite and DSi accomplished the same in a span of over eight weeks.

The Nintendo 3DS was unleashed on February 26, 2011 before being shipped to Europe on March 25 this year. Gamers across North America were presented with the system on March 27. Previously, the gaming giant revealed that it has sold approximately 3.61 million 3DS devices worldwide.
