Fans of the Final Fantasy series longing for some dark action which the game is known for may be in for a sudden jolt. 1UP reported recently that Square Enix has made it official that Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy which is a fusion of music and RPG genres is being developed for the 3DS by Indies Zero.
The developer can be identified as the maker of the Retro Game Challenge 2 and Electroplankton games for the Nintendo DS. The latest game in the Final Fantasy franchise looks set to feature four gameplay variations on its musical methods, fields, battle and events.
Gamers will apparently be able to team up with four members representing characters picked up from the Final Fantasy series. Songs to be featured in this title include Clash on the Big Bridge, One Winged Angel, At Zanarkand and The Sunleth Waterscape all from the previous games of the series.
Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy is currently in development for the Nintendo 3DS. Square Enix is yet to declare a release date for the title.
