During the last few days of 2010, the Nintendo 3DS gathered a lot of attention from diverse corners of the gaming arena. While developers have been raving about the possibilities created by the incorporation of 3D technology into this console, Nintendo has served a word of caution for enthusiasts. The gaming giant recently issued a warning stating that the children under the age of six years should refrain from the 3D mode while playing on the console, reports Joystiq.

A post on Nintendo’s Japanese website displays the 3DS warning label which warns gamers against the side effects of playing on the device for a longer duration. According to this cautionary piece of remark, children below six years of age should not employ the 3D mode at all. Instead, parents can monitor their kids’ gaming habits by locking the gizmo into 2D mode through the in-built controls.
The caveat not only addresses young gamers but also adult aficionados who have been waiting for the advent of the device. It has been stated that if ”˜adults feel ill’ while using the handheld console then they should immediately end gameplay. Reportedly, more than the integrated display of the 3DS, the technological persuasion which enables players to perceive the desired graphics affects their normal vision which could cause impairment.
Well, we are sure that the debate as to whether it is safe to use the Nintendo 3DS or not will continue for a long time. However, it is difficult to determine if such warnings will deter enthusiasts from diving deep into the 3D realm of Nintendo’s latest innovation.
