Nintendo DSi Metronome is a software that can aid users in keeping tempo when playing an instrument. It reproduces a rhythm by playing sounds based on adjustable beat and tempo settings. Nintendo’s Game & Watch: Ball title and two other metronome designs can be utilized to record the player’s own sounds for the metronome to use. There’s also the Donkey Kong Metronome minigame that has Mario jump over Donkey Kong’s barrels in sync with sounds made into the microphone to match the beat.

Nintendo DSi Instrument Tuner software may be implemented in tuning an instrument by aligning tonal pitches. Sounds can be fed into the microphone to measure the difference with a target pitch or a sample tone can be heard to help with this task. A choice of three tuner designs as well as adjustable standard musical pitch and notation come with the program. A ‘Tuner Fight’ minigame challenges players to pop balloons as they rise from pipes by making tones that match the exhibited pitches.
