With Nintendo’s E3 announcement unveiling its new handheld, the 3DS, the floodgates have opened and we have publishers announcing all sorts of games for the 3D enabled console. Now the EA Play Label of Electronic Arts has announced that The Sims 3 is in development for the Nintendo 3DS and will be available for the console in 2011. The game released for PC and Mac last June and is set to launch for consoles this fall.

“We’re bringing players the first true 3D life simulation game on a handheld utilizing the ground breaking technology of the Nintendo 3DS,” said Sam Player, Executive Producer at EA. “With new features like face mapping, a living open neighborhood, connectivity like never before and an all-new feature called “Karma Powers,” we’re making it easier than ever for gamers to play with life from the gaming platform of their choice.”
The Sims 3 for the Nintendo 3DS is in development with The Sims Studio and hasn’t yet been rated by the ESRB. We hope the game contains all the features of its PC counterpart, in 3D!
