Pokémon Platinum Version is a video game for the Nintendo DS and is coming very soon to the US. With less than a week to go for the game’s US launch, fans of the series, and there are many, are abuzz with vigor. Pokémon Platinum Version is set to release in the US on March 22, 2009 and includes the new Distortion World, online games, new forms of powerful Pokémon that have not been before and of course strategic battles.
“The Pokémon franchise has been a force since it came to the United States more than 10 years ago,” remarked Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive VP of Sales & Marketing. “To date, our two most recent games in the core Pokémon series, Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, have sold more than 5.3 million in the United States alone. Pokémon Platinum Version brings fans a set of new challenges, fun and entertainment.”
March 21, 2009 will see Nintendo play host at the Nintendo World store in New York, to an overwhelming launch party for the game. Fans will be able to buy the game at the launch party at the Rockefeller Plaza location, a day before its release on March 22, 2009. Many activities will be held at the launch party for the fans, including taking pictures with their favorite Pokémon characters and the Pokémon Platinum Plunge wherein fans will be given a chance to win a copy of the Pokémon Platinum Version game.
The fans keep coming back to the Pokémon games because of the various features that the games offer such as the new Wi-Fi Plaza allowing up to 20 players with wireless broadband access to get their Pokémon out and battle. Also, now players can put up their Pokémon for trade to Pokémon fans around the world at the Global Terminal, which also permits players to use the Vs. Recorder to save and upload videos of Pokémon battles online.
