Dinosaurs may have left the earth millions of years ago, but Jurassic Park and all its dinosaurs come to life on Nintendo’s DS and DSi systems with the release of Fossil Fighters, a dinosaur-themed video game which delivers a truly prehistoric experience.
The Nintendo handheld game lets players collect the fossilized remains of some of the most fearsome creatures ever to have walked the earth, using the innovative touch-screen controls of the DS. Not only that! Players can even bring their collections back to life and send them out to battle. Players are granted the freedom to customize a team of “Vivosaurs” as they are called, and explore the huge environment of Vivosaur Island. Using the Nintendo DS and DSi’s wireless capabilities, players can also battle against each other using their customized teams and even exchange fossils with one another.
“Dinosaurs are a source of endless fascination for the young and the young at heart,” Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s Executive VP of Sales & Marketing stated. “Combining customization and social play, Fossil Fighters brings together the best elements of hand-held gaming for players of all ages.”
Players must make use of the stylus and touch screen to drill and slowly chip away the rock, revealing the fossilized remains underneath. They can even get rid of all the dust by blowing into the console’s microphone. Custom teams of three Vivosaurs can be constructed to suit each battle. The price of the game hasn’t been announced yet.
