Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia for Nintendo DS Announced by Konami

Previously, Castlevania games have been released on the Virtual Console as well as the Xbox Live Arcade. Now Konami has sent word about an exclusive game for the Nintendo DS called as Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. It is expected to have the all-new Glyph attack system where gamers can employ special attack combinations.

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia sees gamers assume the role of a member if an organization called as Ecclesia, which has sworn to overpower the evil forces of Dracula. The Glyph attack system unleashes more than hundred diverse combinations to fight Dracula’s minions throughout twenty explorable areas. Also, gamers will be able to select between compete head-to-head or trade items and equipment through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Order of Ecclesia features multiple endings, which can be unlocked thereby offering extra exploration, combat as well as items.

Anthony Crouts is the VP of marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment. He commented, “We have always felt that the Castlevania franchise has been an excellent fit on Nintendo DS, and based on the popularity of the DS classics, Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin, our fans agree. We fully expect Order of Ecclesia to ignite the fan base once again as it combines the classic Castlevania gameplay with an all-new combat system and outdoor environments.”

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia has been developed in-house by Konami. Legendary Castlevania producer Koji ‘Iga’ Igarashi has also worked on the game. It is expected to be out in the fall season of 2008.
