AddictingGames, an online gaming website started in 2002, is known for providing users with an array of flash based games. A part of Nickelodeon Kids and Family Group, the website’s target audience consists of kids, teens, tweens and adults alike. We have word that AddictingGames will launch games and the AddictingGames iNetwork, a publishing network for iPhone game developers, soon.
Game developers will be able to use AddictingGames’ expertise in the fields of social gaming, reach and upselling to provide iPhone users with their wares. AddictingGames iNetwork will have games based on properties of MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and other divisions of MTV Networks.
“The iPhone is perfectly suited for our easy-to-play, fresh, fun games which together present a pretty powerful combination. With the AddictingGames iNetwork, we are extending our relationships with developers to the iPhone platform, and are giving them a new promotional vehicle for their games,” explained Dave Williams, Senior VP and GM, Nickelodeon Kids and Family Games Group.
The Game Performance Bonus Program started by the gaming site rewards game developers who create high performing games for the site’s users. Developers who are a part of the AddictingGames iNetwork will have to pay a revenue share of their titles. They would then have access to the website’s suite of game community services like level builders, Facebook Connect integration, high scores and player matching.
The official AddictingGames website will feature select iPhone games with ‘Download now on iPhone’ promotions running across related game web pages. The site together with Shockwave will extend support through weekly ‘iPhone Game of the Week’ promotions which will be held across selected sites of MTV Networks.
The first AddictingGames on iPhone will include the Parking Lot inspired iParking It, 50 States based on geography and a strategy game called World Wars. The AddictingGames iNetwork and iPhone games will be launched this month.
