Gamers who wish to get into the beta of The Secret World before it closes down won’t have to wait for code giveaways anymore, as it will be made available to all during the weekend of June 22. Slated to release on July 3 for PC, this MMORPG developed by Funcom transpires in a modern day alternate world where people can became anything they want without restrictions.
This will be the fourth beta weekend for the upcoming game, and it will comprise all the content that has been included in the three previous ones. These include all three starter experiences of the secret societies portrayed within the title. Gamers will even get to witness the town of Kingsmouth, the Savage Coast and the Polaris and Hell Raised dungeons. Moreover, exclusive to this final beta weekend is the inclusion of PvP gameplay in which the secret societies must battle it out in legendary locations like Stonehenge and Eldorado.
Funcom SVP of Sales and Marketing, Morten Larssen, explained “The game is definitely living up to our expectations, and it appears this is a sentiment we share with our testers as well. The playtime per participant during the last Beta Weekend was very impressive, shattering all records from previous Beta Weekends or even beta events from our previous games. This is a strong indication of the engagement and depth of the gameplay experience. Beta surveys have shown that four out of five players will recommend the game to their friends, something we find remarkably positive and a true testament to the quality of the game and the amazing work the team has done.”
This upcoming game will allow players to join one of three secret societies – the Illuminati, the Dragon or the Templars. Contrary to the modern MMORPG norms, it won’t feature any classes or levels, providing gamers with complete freedom to play and interact with the surroundings as they wish. Its story takes place in a world where every conspiracy theory, myth, fable and urban legend is true.
The final beta weekend of The Secret World will commence on June 22, 2012 at 9am PDT, and go on till 11.59pm PDT on June 24.
