MMO fans have one more reason to jump into the free-to-play action of DC Universe Online, as it has been granted with new content that is ‘almost entirely’ focused on PvP combat. Dubbed The Last Laugh, this DLC will proffer gamers with hours of multiplayer gameplay in the Safe Houses and Headquarters while also providing them with a new weapon as well as fresh Light-Powered and Kryptonian Legends PvP characters.
The story of this content involves The Joker, who’s not quite happy about the Heroes and Villains working so closely to defeat the Brainiac. In order to create chaos, he hacks into the security systems of the Hero and Villain Safe Houses and Headquarters, enabling himself to attack in various scenarios. The Last Laugh will kick in Safe House PvP battles which are four-on-four fights that transpire on new maps.
Larry Liberty, Executive Producer, DC Universe Online, wrote on the official PlayStation blog, “We created The Last Laugh purely for the players that like to take the fight to each other in DCUO’s amazing PvP combat. It’s going to be a lot of fun and add so much more to the gameplay experience. I hope you take the opportunity to prove to the world whether heroes or villains will be triumphant — see you in-game!”
Three new game modes also make their way into this DLC in the form of the Safe House battles, all of which have their own strategies and objectives. Even Headquarter Battles have been introduced to DC Universe Online. These feature eight-on-eight fights that take place in either the Justice League Watchtower or the Hall of Doom. And the new weapon that we mentioned above is a brawler-style weapon named The Shield.
