Gazillion Entertainment, developer of the upcoming free-to-play MMORPG titled Marvel Heroes has announced that that the game’s closed beta is all set to commence on October 1, 2012. Three new playable characters from the title were also unveiled by the studio recently in the form of Daredevil, Punisher and Squirrel Girl.
It has been revealed that come October 1, gamers will be able to create free accounts on the title’s official site. Doing this will automatically qualify them for a chance to get into the closed beta. Gazillion Entertainment has mentioned that a small number of individuals will be chosen initially, but more people will start being added later on.
A post on the game’s official blog, reads, “As told to the attendees of our panel at PAX 2012, the answer is October 1st, 2012. Beginning on October 1st you will be able to create a free account on www.marvelheroes.com. Creating this account automatically enters you for a chance to be selected to join the Closed Beta for Marvel Heroes. Closed Beta will be starting with a relatively small number of people, but we’ll be adding more people over time. If you don’t get in right away, don’t worry, you’re still eligible to be selected. We cannot guarantee you will be selected, although we will try to let in as many people as possible over time – so please be patient.”
This game has been described by its maker as a marriage between the core gameplay elements of Diablo and the massive lineup of characters from the Marvel Universe. Players will be able to further build their characters by making use of a library of powers that will be appropriate to their heroes.
Marvel Heroes is still to get a release date. Its beta however is slated to go online on October 1.
