Averaging over five hours of playing time in one whole day, gamers have created more than 3.8 million characters, out of which 510,000 are Jedi Knights, while the other 550,000 are Sith Warriors. Those looking for some more number crunching can feast on this. Over two billion non-player characters have been killed in the eight days since early access to this game commenced. Said to be one of the greatest and most ambitious achievements in video game history, Star Wars: The Old Republic has apparently been garnering positive reviews after its release on December 20, 2011.

Ray Muzyka, General Manager of EA’s BioWare label and Co-Founder of BioWare, explained, “Already over a million players strong after our Dec 20th launch, The Old Republic has become the fastest growing subscription MMO in the history of our industry. Everyone at BioWare, EA and Lucas Arts is honored – and humbled – by the stellar response from our fans. We’re going to work together closely with our community in the weeks, months and years ahead, continually serving our audience with regular delivery of compelling new features and content!”

Transpiring thousands of years prior to the classic Star Wars flicks, this title involves players joining forces with either the Galactic Republic or the Sith Empire. Eight Star Wars characters – Jedi Knight, Jedi Consular, Smuggler, Trooper, Sith Warrior, Sith Inquisitor, Bounty Hunter and Imperial Agent, will be available for them to choose from.
