World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Set for December Release

The World of Warcraft series has been alluring fans across the globe with its engaging narrative and adventures. Now, Blizzard Entertainment has announced that the next installment dubbed World of Warcraft: Cataclysm will release this December. This massively multiplayer online RPG will unleash a new chapter as the evil Dragon Aspect Deathwing returns to the franchise.

“Cataclysm includes the best content we’ve ever created for World of Warcraft. It’s not just an expansion, but a re-creation of much of the original Azeroth, complete with epic new high-level adventures for current players and a redesigned leveling experience for those just starting out. With the help of our beta testers, we’re putting on the final polish, and we look forward to welcoming gamers around the world to enjoy it in just a couple of months,” explained Mike Morhaime, CEO and Co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment.

The title portrays the life in the Azeroth region as gamers traverse through familiar terrains which now lie ravaged. Players can enter the territory in Cataclysm to reach a new cap level of 85. At this level, they will have the opportunity to explore fresh locations, obtain superior powers as well as defeat Deathwing to save the world from destruction. While the Alliance and the Horde continue their fight, this game introduces two new playable races namely worgen and goblins.

Gamers can procure the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm DVD-ROM for Windows XP/Windows Vista/ Windows 7 and Macintosh systems at the price of 39.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,773). Besides, the title can be downloaded via the digital route from the Blizzard Store starting December 7, 2010. The experience can be further enhanced with a special Collector’s Edition comprising bonus items which can be picked up from retail stores for 79.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,548).
