Xbox 360 getting a 500GB hard drive soon

The Xbox 360 console is soon to be blessed with a 500GB storage option, as Microsoft has officially revealed its plans to do so. This hard drive has already been listed in the US, while the company has also confirmed that it will soon be making its way into the UK. No word is out yet about its release in territories other than the two said countries. Prior to this, Microsoft was only selling a 320GB hard drive for its console.

Xbox 360 HDD

It has been revealed that the 500GB Xbox 360 hard drive will go on sale in the US at 109.99 USD (approx. Rs 6650). And Eurogamer has been told by the Redmond-based company that its UK price will be 79.99 GBP (approx. Rs 8020). Now the interesting part is that in the US, the 320GB hard drive itself is being sold for more than what the 500GB variant will cost. And as far as the UK goes, the 320GB version is being offered at the same price as that of the 500GB model.

If there’s any indication in this, it’s that the 320GB Xbox 360 hard drive will be taken off store shelves completely in favor of the new storage device. We’re not sure when that will happen though. For those wondering, this new hard drive for the Microsoft console is compatible with both its Slim and E versions, but not its initial model.
