New Update for Xbox 360 Not Compatible With Some Systems

Firmware updates often come in to fortify current performance and supplement it with a better one. Nonetheless, they don’t necessarily perform with immaculate precision all the time. The latest update for the Xbox 360 just goes to prove this.

Xbox 360

According to Eurogamer, the new Xbox 360 update is reportedly incompatible with some versions of the console. Following the installation of the update, the device has been plugged to display a ‘disc unreadable’ or ‘disc unsupported’ error on the screen. Apparently, the firmware upgrade is said to enhance the system, infusing it with the capability to support the new XGD3 disc standard. It has been further touted to add ‘1GB of usable data to 360 DVDs.’

Reports state that Microsoft is now looking into the matter to resolve this problem. It has also offered some relief to gamers with affected Xbox 360 systems by declaring that it will deliver replacements. The gaming giant is expected to present new Xbox 360 S with 250 GB hard drive to such players.

We’ve not heard official word from Microsoft on the issue yet. Nonetheless, gamers who have been facing aforesaid troubles on their consoles can contact the company via Xbox live.
