Microsoft seems to be in a tizzy of sorts as an early build of its Xbox exclusive Gears of War 3 was leaked online this week. This has caused a hodgepodge of spoiler videos on YouTube. Microsoft in a statement to IGN assured fans that the leaked content is not the final version of the game.
“We have seen the reports of Gears of War 3 content being propped on the Web and working closely with our security teams and law enforcement to address the situation. This content is not from a final build and is not representative of what fans will enjoy when the game launches,” was the official statement made by Microsoft to the gaming website.
Epic Design Director Cliff Bleszinski tweeted with a link to the statement, “Here. Please stop asking me about it. Upsetting enough to hear and making more news about it only draws attention. Sad.”
Surprisingly, Microsoft’s Halo: Reach also witnessed a similar leak months prior to its release last September. Fans of Gears of War 3 would however be hoping that the leak has nothing to do with the actual game which is slated to release on September 20, 2011.
