Konami Digital Entertainment seems to be on a roll today as it revealed many new forthcoming offerings. These included the entire line-up for the Nintendo 3DS system as well as NeverDead. The company announces a new Xbox 360 title dubbed as the Otomedius Excellent. The upcoming game is noted to be the sequel to the Japan-exclusive arcade and Xbox 360 titles.
Otomedius Excellent is packed with the classic Gradius-style gameplay complete with eye-catching visuals. Besides these features, the game also includes a better upgrade system as well as exclusive downloadable content. Gamers are even offered captivating local and online multiplayer action.
Shinji Hirano, President of Konami Digital Entertainment commented, “As the sequel to the 2008 Japanese hit Otomedius Gorgeous, Otomedius Excellent boasts a significant visual and gameplay update since its predecessor. Accompanied by brilliant graphics and an excellent soundtrack, Otomedius Excellent will engage fans with the Gradius franchise on a whole new level.”
Players can opt from nine different characters as they dive into brand new stages. This 2D side-scrolling shooter action can also be played with up to three players either locally or online through Xbox Live Arcade. There is also an expanded gallery mode where gamers can access and view all their unlocked graphics and wallpapers. This content keeps on growing as players proceed further in the game. The company has also disclosed that there will be loads of downloadable content. Details of the offerings are expected to be announced at a later date.
Otomedius Excellent is scheduled to unveil into stores later this year for the Xbox 360 console. The official release date and pricing details are however still unclear.
