Japan soon to get 250GB Xbox 360 Hard Drive Accessory

The Xbox 360 console from Microsoft debuted into the gaming scene back in 2005. The company has earlier unveiled detachable hard drives in capacities of 20, 60 and 120GB. If gamers wanted a 250GB hard drive, they would need to depend on third party manufacturers or special Xbox 360 consoles already bundled with the 250GB hard drive.

Now it looks like gamers situated in Japan are set to receive a standalone 250GB Xbox 360 hard drive accessory fashioned by Microsoft. It however appears that the bigger capacity drives is only lined-up for a Japan release at present. It is still unclear whether the company has any plans to unveil the 250GB hard drive in western countries as well.

A company spokesperson disclosed to IGN, “Microsoft is now offering a standalone 250GB Hard Drive in Japan to provide consumers in Japan more storage options for their games and entertainment. We work closely with retailers to determine the best approach for our products on a region-by-region basis.”

Microsoft is frequently expanding its plethora of online services and downloadable content like movies and TV shows. With these offerings constantly bombarding Xbox 360 players, a 250GB Xbox 360 hard drive accessory seems like a great storage option.

The 250GB Xbox 360 Hard drive accessory is slated for a March release. Players strewn all across Japan can get their hands on the product for 15,540 yen (approx. Rs.7,915).
