Square Enix has announced that Star Ocean: The Last Hope will be released across all PAL territories for the Xbox 360 come spring 2009.
This prequel is set in an era caused by the third world war. Star Ocean: The Last Hope is a fantasy-science fiction RPG and a really intriguing game in the Star Ocean series. The game will use the same real-time battle system as previous games in the series.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope is a stunning new adventure in the series that is sure to delight both fans and newcomers alike.”
Star Ocean: The Last Hope features extremely realistic CG movies by Visual Works, the same studio that has worked on the Final Fantasy RPG series. Players will be able to control their own ship in this installment of Star Ocean, traveling around the ocean of stars and landing on various planets and other space based destinations.
Star Ocean: The Last Hope releases on February 24, 2009 exclusively for the Xbox 360 and will retail at about 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2, 935).
