The price cut by Microsoft Japan will make the Xbox 360 Arcade the first in the current generation consoles to have a price point below 20,000 yen (approx. Rs. 8, 080) mark. The Nintendo Wii, the most successful of the three consoles, comes with a price tag of 25,000 yen (approx. Rs. 10, 100) in Japan. As for Sony, David Reeves had pointed out last month that they will not be slashing the price of the PS3 in this year.
