Microsoft to Woo European Gamers

It is not a hidden fact that Microsoft did go wrong somewhere in Japan and burnt its hands with the Xbox 360. But now, according to Bloomberg, Microsoft is planning to turn all their attention to Europe and will now woo the gamers from that continent, even though they had an advantage of a year’s time in the land of the rising sun.

Microsoft to Woo European Gamers

At the Tokyo Games Show 2007, Aaron Greenberg, who happens to be the Xbox 360 group product manager, spoke about it in a group Q&A session. He said, “For us, winning on a global basis doesn’t mean winning every single market. We will win some, we’ll lose some, but the key is to win across the sum of the parts. So we feel like winning in North America, winning in Europe and doing very well in Asia is important, but I think that if you talk to publishers, you can win on a global basis by leading specifically in North America and Europe.”

The statement comes just sometime after Microsoft had announced that they had sold more than 11 million Xbox 360 consoles. As for its endeavor in Japan, many analysts feel that Microsoft will not be able to do that well here and even question that are the efforts by Microsoft even worth it.
