Xbox One priced at a whopping Rs 55,000 in India

Microsoft’s Xbox One console was being listed by Snapdeal since long, but the console now seems to have received its final pricing at last. A definite price of Rs 55,000 has been slapped against it, aside from a release period of March 2014, and it’s of course available for pre-order right now. Microsoft is still to reveal its official plans of launching the console here in India though.

The news comes just as Indian gamers are preparing to get their hands on Sony’s PS4 which is set to be released in India on January 6, with a relatively lower price tag of Rs 39,990. In a market like India’s, price is everything, and seeing the huge gap between the asking amounts of the PS4 and the Xbox One, it isn’t difficult to predict which one among the two will be faring well here.

The Xbox One’s reputation had suffered outright badgering following the first time that it was showcased to the world. Microsoft had put a lot of restrictions to playing used games, whereas the console was absolutely required to connect to the Internet every 24 hours. Moreover, the Kinect accessory was needed to be connected to the console all the time. All these restrictions and more were later rolled back by the company following fan outburst.

The Xbox One was released first on November 22, 2013 in North America, European, Australian and Brazil regions. Just like in India, its dollar price of $499 is higher than that of the PS4’s $399. Like we said, it’s available for pre-order right now via Snapdeal.
