Sporting super-bright blue LED lights, the SteelSeries Siberia V2 Frost Blue headset debuted at the CES recently. This peripheral is said to feature a lightweight and over-the-head suspension design, an active noise-cancelling microphone as well as circumaural earcups.
These earcups come equipped with 50mm drivers and covered by grey leather cushions that supposedly offer noise-dampening sounds. The illumination options available on the headset provide gamers with six different modes that can be assigned to behavior and game-specific profiles using the SteelSeries Engine. These include an Active Mode which doles out responsive pulsing to sound effects, music, and voice. The other five modes are named Slow Pulse, Fast Pulse, High Bright, Low Bright and Off.
Jacob Wolff-Petersen, SteelSeries Founder, revealed, “The Siberia v2 Frost Blue combine’s incredible sound with a style that is not only recognized, but is an original design that’s been optimized and improved. This headset packs a loud and crisp soundscape with the expected luxury for the user to be able to adjust everything – from illumination options, equalizer settings to creating and assigning profiles for multiple game titles and players, all through the SteelSeries Engine software.”
This peripheral also kicks in an active noise cancelling ‘smart’ microphone system that is claimed to retract when not in use. The processor on this microphone apparently reduces the ‘noise’ and focuses on the sound that is closer to it. Moreover, it also possesses in-line volume and mute controls that can be found on the headset’s double-braided nylon cord.
Pricing of the SteelSeries Siberia V2 Frost Blue headset is yet to be announced by the company. However, it has been disclosed that this product will be outed for retail in Q2 of this year.
