Much to gamers’ disappointments, Microsoft decided to conclude the current storyline of its Gears of War franchise. But it looks like they’re making sure it ends in style. Come September, and fans can lay their hands on the limited edition Gears 3 LCE console and controller package which will include a red and black Gears of War 3 console with two custom-designed wireless controllers, a 320GB hard drive and a built-in Wi-Fi connection.
The controller as well as the console, designed by Microsoft and Epic games, will both feature the infected omen symbol on their red and black skin. A download token is also available, which will give gamers the opportunity to play with Adam Fenix in multiplayer mode. Apart from that, downloadable content also includes a five weapons pack – Lancer, Retro Lancer, Hammerburst, Gransher, and Sawed-Off Shotgun, all bearing the infected omen symbol.
The package also includes a copy of ‘Gears of War 3’ along with a wired headset. On the console, power and eject buttons have been modified to give unique sounds from the games universe. Customized red and black controllers can also be purchased separately.
The Gears 3 LCE Console and Controller bundle will be available on September 20, 2011 at 399.99 USD (approx Rs. 17,890). The controllers can be separately purchased for 59.99 USD (approx Rs. 2,683).
