Logitech Adapter to allow Harmony Remote Control over Sony PS3

Forget the fact that the PS3 can play Blu-ray discs and has up to 80 GB of storage space. For the home theater enthusiast, here is another reason to get the PS3. Logitech has revealed through one of its blogs, BLogitech, that the company’s Harmony line of universal remotes will be able to control your PS3.

Logitech Adapter

The details on this are scant right now but a post on the blog says that they will be manufacturing an adaptor which will enable PS3 owners to use Logitech’s Harmony remotes to control the PS3. Not only that, you will even be able to turn the PS3 on and off using the remote. Plus, good news for those with recent PS3 models, the adaptor will not need a USB port to interface with the console.

Contrastingly, the Xbox 360 is already compatible with the Harmony universal remotes having an in-built IR receiver. The blog says that the price and availability will be revealed shortly, which means soon PS3 users will not even have to get off the couch to watch movies on their PS3s. Just point and click.
