Joe Danger is headed to Android at last

After making hay on almost all mainstream platforms out there, Joe Danger is all set to make its way to Android-based devices. Hello Games has just announced that it will be porting the touch-based version of the game to Google’s mobile OS, and will be releasing it through the Play store, the Amazon AppStore as well as the OUYA store. While several other details regarding the upcoming port have been revealed by its makers, they have decided to stay mum about its release date.

Joe Danger for Android will of course be based on Joe Danger Touch which was released for iOS around a year ago. This means it will feature 80 levels with Pro Medals in each of them, online scoreboards and achievements, 29 distinct characters as well as a Daily Challenge mode. It has also been revealed that the game will be compatible with Android controllers, thus catering to those with a distaste for touchscreen gaming.

While Hello Games is still the lead developer on Joe Danger for Android, it’s taking the assistance of SockMonkey Studios as well. Meanwhile, the studio is busy creating the extremely ambitious and much anticipated No Man’s Sky which is slated for a release later this year. This adventure title will offer a procedurally generated open universe, wherein players will be able to assume the role of a planetary explorer with a spacecraft. It’s meant only to be played on the PS4 and PC for now.
