The much anticipated new game from Rockstready Studios, Batman: Arkham Knight had received a delay earlier this month which had pushed its release into 2015. And while we didn’t have any idea on when that will happen in the said year, Microsoft’s official online store seems to have leaked the release date prior to its announcement. According to the game’s listing on the store, it will be launched (at least for the Xbox One) on February 24, 2015.
This would put it up against The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt which is another huge offering headed the way of gamers in the same month. Both these titles have chosen to snub last-gen consoles and embraced new systems from Microsoft and Sony. They can be pre-ordered now for all the platforms they are supposed to land on. If Batman: Arkham Knight is indeed coming to the Xbox One on February 24, it’s a given that it will also be launched for the PS4 and PC on that date.
This new offering from Rocksteady Studios looks to the complete the trilogy that began with Batman: Arkham Asylum back in 2009. Its story will take place a year after the events portrayed in 2011’s Arkham City and will see the Dark Knight confronting Scarecrow who has returned to Gotham City in order to kill him once and for all. This will be the first game from the series which will allow you to drive the Batmobile.
Like we said, Batman: Arkham Knight is almost certain to have grabbed a February 24 release date, but this detail hasn’t been made official yet.
