Angry Birds Space Crosses 10 Million Downloads

March 22 marked the release date of Rovio’s latest offering – Angry Birds Space, and three days down the line, this game already has over 10 million downloads in its kitty. It is currently available for iOS and Android devices as well as for Mac and PC.

Gamespot has come across a tweet coming in from the game’s official feed, which revealed this milestone. Upon its launch last week, this title became Rovio’s first integrated entertainment launch, as related merchandise, animation and books were also made available in retail at the same time. The game has the much loved birds floating through space in zero gravity, and players are required to use the gravity of nearby planets in order to set up trick shots.

Claimed to take the fan-favorite Angry Birds gameplay to completely new levels, this entrant even proffers the avians with their own superpowers. The original game lands equipped with a total of sixty space levels. Other new levels will be provided through regular free updates in the future. In-app purchases can also be used by players in order to acquire additional content.

Angry Birds Space is downloadable now for the iPhone and iPod touch at 0.99 USD (approx. Rs. 50), whereas its iPad version goes for 2.99 USD (approx. Rs. 155). On the other hand, the game’s Android version is being offered for free with advertising, but the ad-free version sells at 0.99 USD (approx Rs. 50) for phones. And for tablets, the price goes up to 2.99 USD (approx. Rs. 155). The Mac App Store version of this title costs 4.99 USD (approx. Rs. 255), while the PC edition bears a price tag of 5.95 USD (approx. Rs.305).
