Angry Birds Space Revealed from International Space Station

Rovio has taken the concept of themed announcements up a notch by revealing Angry Birds Space through the International Space Station. Fresh features of the game include some new birds, superpowers and refined gameplay. As part of a partnership between Samsung and Rovio Mobile, this title will be first showcased on the Samsung Galaxy Note smartphone at the SXSWi conference today.

It will be launched for iOS, Android, Mac and PC platforms on March 22, and will comprise a total of 60 puzzling levels. Moreover, extra levels would also be delivered in the form of both free regular updates as well as in-app purchases. The announcement of the title was done by Flight Engineer, Don Pettit of NASA, from the space station and is said to be the beginning of a collaboration between Rovio and NASA on educational efforts.

“We focused on every detail in development of Angry Birds Space to build a special experience for our fans. Being set in space, the new Angry Birds offering will feature variable gravity environments. Gamers will be able to play in weightless settings as well as the gravity wells of nearby planets. Furthermore, the popular birds from the series have also been transformed into superheroes, with new costumes and abilities.

Angry Birds Space will be released for multiple platforms on March 22, 2012, whereas its first glimpse will be given to attendees of the SXSWi conference today.
