Not Many Ideas Come From My Team: Kojima

You would think that a majority of the ideas behind a big video game, or any other larger than life IP for that matter, are a result of brainstorming sessions, and come from a whole team of creative writers, rather than individuals. It would be pretty difficult for individuals to keep coming up with idea after idea for an entire project. But that’s just what Hideo Kojima says he does.

Peace Walker not such a Team Effort

According to Computer and Video Games, in the latest issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine, Hideo Kojima says that most of the ideas come from him and not many are contributed by his team. Not something that’ll get him too popular with his team, we reckon.

When asked to give an estimate on the percentage of ideas which came from his team in the making of MGS Peace Walker, Kojima told the magazine, “Well it’s strange, but not so many ideas come from the other staff. Co-op Ring, Love Box – the names and the ideas come from myself.”

So he’s holding down the fort almost all by himself then. It seems he has been more involved, not satisfied simply with the role of Producer for MGS Peace Walker.
