With the increasing number of titles swarming into the web world, the social games space has been expanding multifariously. Earlier this month, THQ rolled out Company of Heroes online open beta for North American gamers. To enlarge its presence in this segment, the gaming giant has joined hands with Joyent for extending a turn-key development and publishing environment.

It has been stated that Joyent will now hold the command to manage the server infrastructure, bandwidth, hosting and network operations for prototyping as well as operation of THQ’s online games. With the added benefit of its quick-start cloud solution and professional services, the company will assist THQ in delivering innovative games. This will lessen the burden of infrastructural deployment for the latter, enabling them to hasten the speed of development while incurring reduced operating costs. Besides, this unison will also help the developer to improve scalability.
We hope that this partnership will enable THQ to dish out thrilling titles at a faster pace for gratifying mounting expectations of gaming enthusiasts.
