Reliance Big TV and Indiagames Announces Agreement to Launch DTH Gaming Service in India

Reliance Big TV is the DTH subsidiary of Reliance Communications, whereas Indiagames is the subsidiary of UTV. Now we have word that Reliance Big TV and Indiagames have announced that they have signed a strategic agreement to introduce DTH gaming services in India.

As per the agreement Indiagames will offer gaming services on Reliance Big TV’s DTH platform in India. Indiagames will leverage its partnership with US-based Oberon Media to provide specialized games for Reliance Big TV’s DTH platform.

Reliance Big TV will offer its DTH gaming service as part of its Interactive Services. Branded iGames, RBTV and Indiagames will offer eight different games across multiple genres which will be refreshed every month. The games include Galapago, 4 versions of Solitaire, MOODiES, Space MOODiES, Air Hockey, and Darts from I-play, Oberon’s publishing division, as well as premium third party licenses.

Currently RBTV’s VAS business contributes less than 5 percent of overall business revenues. But Reliance plans to double the VAS contribution to overall revenues over the next fiscal. And Reliance expects VAS business revenue of over 100 crore rupees over the next 5 years. RBTV will launch a series of interactive services over the next few months which include iJobs, iHolidays, iMatrimony, iEstate, iJuniors, iEducation, and iHealth among others.
