Capcom Dead Rising Squalls into Apple’s App Store

September this year teleported players to a gut-wrenching zombie infected universe jam-packed with heaps of scum-exterminating fun in Capcom’s Dead Rising. The game’s publisher is now delivering thrills akin to this earlier offering for iPhone and iPod Touch where gamers will storm their way across a shopping mall and eliminate an army of the undead.

Players will take on the role of Frank West who is portrayed as a freelance photojournalist on a lifetime hunting ride, similar to the console games of the same title. Dead Rising enables gamers to battle against hordes of zombies using makeshift weapons foraged from displays and stores. Hoping to stay alive and become free eventually, they can also employ chainsaws, shotguns and samurai swords along with commonly found items such as manikins and bowling balls to fend off the ominous undead.

A game mechanic is integrated within Dead Rising which will have players rummage for mall food to survive, a kind of scavenging act that zombie hunters around the world could easily relate to. Gamers can also call their Facebook or Twitter friends out for help, and receive bonus once they are revived. However, friends who leave the distress call unheeded will have to face the player who dies as a powerful zombie in the game.

Dead Rising can now be accessed from the Apple App Store at a limited time discounted value of 4.99 USD (approx. Rs. 226).
