Altair’s Chronicles Reawakens in HD for iPad

Gameloft, widely known as one of the leading mobile video game developers, brought the majorly successful action-adventure Assassin’s Creed franchise to the portable platform earlier in 2008 with Altaïr’s Chronicles. Now, the company is offering the game for iPad in enhanced high-definition graphics coupled with iPad-optimized camera and customizable interface.

Altaïr’s Chronicles depicts Jerusalem of the year 1191 AD where the Third Crusade is shredding the Holy Land to pieces. Players take over the role of Altaïr, a Master Assassin working for the Order of the Assassins set forth on a journey to search for the ‘Chalice’, an object of immense capability that can abolish the Crusades. Pilfering this Chalice from the Templars before anyone else does becomes the primary objective for gamers as their choices determine the fate of the Holy Land.

The game is reported to be a direct prequel to Assassin’s Creed boasting a blend of illustrious gameplay, frenzied action, stealth and puzzle-solving discoveries in a 3D world established in the histories of the Middle East. Players are offered to exploit an array of acrobatic moves and exciting combo attacks that wield swordplay and kicks across various skill-based mini-games. With 6 weapons for close combat and long-ranging attacks involving daggers, bombs, swords and a grappling hook.

Assassin’s Creed: Altaïr’s Chronicles HD is now available from the Apple App Store for 9.99 USD (approx. Rs. 452). The game is also available for Android, Palm Pre and Windows Phone 7 at a price of 6.99 USD (approx. Rs. 316).
