Microsoft to Launch New Geo-Location Mobile Game, Fable III: Kingmaker

Last week, Microsoft revealed the lineup of Hollywood stars who will take center stage in the new chapter. The gaming giant will now splash streets across Europe in the color of its upcoming Fable saga. The company has now announced a new geo-location mobile gaming experience in Fable III: Kingmaker. This game invites fans of the series to capture a piece of land in the name of gold which will come handy while playing the next installment in the series on their Xbox 360.

Gamers can side with either Rebels or faithful Royal followers in Fable III: Kingmaker. The mobile application will enable them to take possession of a land for their group. For this, players will have to tag the location with a virtual flag, using GPS facility on their mobile phones. Those who successfully plant maximum number of flags in a given area can claim possession of that territory.

“To be able to earn gold you can use in your Fable III game, and to check-in and claim land for your side is brilliant for both Fable III and Xbox 360,” remarked Peter Molyneux, Creative Director, Microsoft Games Studios Europe. “We all love the innovation and feeling of being connected that Kingmaker brings to gamers.”

Chris Lewis, Vice President, Interactive Entertainment Business, Microsoft EMEA, explained, “Fable III: Kingmaker brings gaming out of the home and turns your town or city into the setting for an epic online battle. We are always challenging ourselves to find new, exciting ways to deliver second-to-none gaming experiences and we can’t wait to see Fable fans take to the streets across Europe with Fable III: Kingmaker.”

As the two factions conquer lands, players will be rewarded with in-game ”˜Gold’ which can be transferred into Fable III following its release. Gamers can use the gold to customize their character as well as for purchasing in-game products such as crystal swords and manors. The mobile app will also offer them the chance to lay their hands on supplementary trunks of gold which has been scattered across different destinations.

Fable III: Kingmaker releases today with the arrival of several operating platforms which can be downloaded as free apps for more than 60 devices. To indulge in this experience, players can sign up on the official Kingmaker website. Subsequent to the launch of Windows Phone 7 this holiday season, gamers across the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Netherlands and Sweden will be able to access the game on it. Finally, the tale of Albion will narrate its new chapter in Fable III from October 29, 2010 in the UK.
