Atlantica Online developer Ndoors Interactive had created a special edition, limited random box containing some of the rarest items in the item mall and game. Priced at 3999 Gcoins, part of the proceeds would be forwarded to Penny Arcade’s Child’s Play charity.
Now we have word that Child’s Play has asked that they be withdrawn from the event due to receiving negative emails from Atlantica Online players about the nature of the donation and the box.
“While we recognize that not all of our players were negative towards the donation and/or box, it is regrettable that the actions of a few have prevented our players, as a whole, from donating to this cause,” the Atlantica Online Team says, encouraging its players to directly donate if they so choose.
Ndoors had planned to donate 5 percent of the gross revenue generated from this box to charity. Now the company is looking for another cause and charity to champion.
