There are so many out there who love Nintendo and all the company does. They would swear by their trusty DS or DSi console to keep them occupied and entertained while on the go. Well, this bit of news might come as a downer to those Nintendo fans. Gaming blog Kotaku is reporting that Final Fantasy VII writer, Masato Kato believes that the end of the Nintendo era has arrived!

Apparently Mr. Kato posted a tweet on his twitter account which goes, “With the iPad going on sale, the epoch of Nintendo is finished.” In the tweet, he went on to say, “But with the DS and the Wii, it’s been digging its own grave.”
Masato Kato who, based on his recent posts on Twitter, appears to be fascinated with the idea of the new Apple iPad and HD consoles and all they can offer, seems to think that the Nintendo casual consoles won’t be able to hold their ground in the face of growing demand for HD-related stuff.
Anyway, in about two weeks time Nintendo is set to showcase the new Nintendo 3DS at this year’s E3 conference. The handheld is capable of running games in 3D without the need for those 3D glasses.
