“This is a momentous occasion for both Koei and Tecmo. With some great quality titles coming from both sides, such as Undead Knights (PSP) and Quantum Theory (name TBC) (PlayStation 3) from Tecmo, and Warriors: Legends of Troy (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360) and Trinity: Souls of Zill O’ll (PlayStation 3) from Koei. TKE will quickly become one of the major players in the video games industry,” commented Will Curley, VP of Sales and Marketing.

This unification of Japan’s two biggest gaming companies will make an entire library of new games available to their fans in Europe. Ninja Gaiden 2 will be the first game to be released by TKE and will be available exclusively for the PS3. Speaking on this, Curley added, “Featuring new characters, game play, and developed by the award-winning Team Ninja, Ninja Gaiden 2 is the perfect vehicle with which to launch the new company.”

The union was made so that both companies could establish a bigger footprint in the European game market. The reaction of worldwide fans to this official move still remains to be seen.
