Reliance Big Entertainment and Brad Pitt’s Plan B making Dark Void movie

Dark Void is the upcoming game from Capcom for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in which players must battle an alien race banished by humanity. Now Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B Entertainment under a creative partnership with Reliance Big Entertainment, and Capcom have reached an agreement for the film rights for Dark Void. The “theatrical version” of the game is being developed as a sci-fi action franchise, and there is a possibility that Brad Pitt might star in it himself.

Reliance Big Entertainment’s Chairman Amit Khanna said, “We are delighted that our Creative Partnership with Plan B has led to this agreement to develop the Dark Void motion picture based on Dark Void along with Capcom and we look forward to future projects from them.”

Dark Void the game, is filled with elements of on-foot and aerial combat, interspersed with sequences using the vertical cover system, to deliver an adrenaline-fuelled experience.

“As a game, Dark Void was developed with a wide-screen mentality – a world full of adventure presented in cinematic scope and scale,” Germaine Gioia, senior vice president, licensing, Capcom Entertainment, commented. “Plan B recognized the potential of our newest property and are as excited about bringing Dark Void to life in cinemas as Capcom is to bring the interactive experience to home theaters.”

Capcom will release Dark Void for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC to North America on January 19, 2010 and to Europe on January 22, 2010.
