AMD Working With Game Devs for DirectX 10.1 Gaming

For a long, long time PC gamers were used to DirectX 9 but over the last few years after the announcement of Windows Vista, DX 10 was the buzzword. Now chip major AMD has sent word that leading game developers including Sega and Electronic Arts are working with them to make a new generation of games that make use of Microsoft DirectX 10.1.

These new games are expected to not only deliver features and performance that are enhanced but also an overall better game experience. Forthcoming games such as Battleforge from Electronic Arts Phenomic Studio, Cloud 9 from NHN Games and Stormrise from Sega will be using DirectX 10.1 as well as offer visual realism and advanced gaming performance.

Dirk Ringe, VP, EA Phenomic says, “With Battleforge, EA is pushing the boundaries of the real-time strategy genre introducing social and community technologies to deliver a whole new online experience. It only makes sense that we leverage the latest technology such as DirectX 10.1 supported by the new ATI Radeon HD 4800 series of graphics cards from AMD to deliver an amazing experience for gamers. The AMD graphic cards, ATI Radeon HD 3000 series and the new ATI Radeon HD 4800 series provide top-to-bottom DirectX 10.1 support. AMD has also come up with a real-time 3D demo called Ping Pong that showcases the technological prowess of DirectX 10.1 technology. Well, as the years pass, the technology also moves forward!
